When you first began, were you told to generate your warm list and work on them (family, friends, work colleagues), that's chasing, and it's a fast way to get those people turned off and avoiding you. Sure if you're fortunate you may have a couple of people on that list who are like minded and willing to do whatever it takes, but in all fairness, aren't there far more people on that list who switch off as soon as you start talking about your company? Learn to avoid them before they start to avoid you and brand you as the guy or gal that they least want to be anywhere near.

It's crucial for you to take control of the situation if you want to stop chasing & start attracting prospects to you - make a conscious choice to spend time and energy on people who want to move ahead with you rather than those who need so much encouragement to take a step or two that they draw you backwards constantly.
